I found the middle a bit slow but the start with Morgan being identified as a match for Sammy and then the ramp up of arson and the DNA results at the end were tense
Morgan was probably too far over the ass hat line for me to be fully behind him - yes, he has been thrown into a situation where he is either a miracle or the devil. But constantly butting up against authority for the sake of it did annoy after a while.
Boyd’s ever changing personality is explained by his ADHD.
But we still have who organised the witch hunt, the fires and took Sammy to sort out! Roll on book 2
