Yeah, I am going to give this book 5 stars. It deserves it! The perfect book at the perfect time for me. Heartwarming and just plain lovely. Words like delightful and charming come to mind when I think of what this story felt like to experience. This emotionally engaging book is masterfully written to tug at your heartstrings and draw you into its vividly and brilliantly crafted world where broken things are made whole again. This book is a delight to the senses ... Rattlesnake's picturesque western smalltown charm ... Mae's home cooking ... a slow dance through a landscape of colour, light and memory ... so sweet and so deliciously good.
PS. Added bonus for me was that this book felt like a Brokeback Mountain AU (Jimmy could have easily been Ennis?) ... this book has a similar tone, setting and cinematic quality ... and a much happier ending ...
