Where She Went by Gayle Forman

5.0

Such an amazing sequel! If you thought that If I Stay was a great novel and haven't read the sequel, then get your hands on Where She Went right now! Where She Went really was an emotional roller coaster for me. Yes, it's that good!

Of course, after the accident that Mia experienced, we all know that it's not going to be easy sailing right away. She had to go through therapies and rehab, which isn't just tough on her, but also on her grandparents and Adam. With Mia and Julliard, and Adam and his band, and everything else in between, it isn't a surprise that Mia and Adam don't stay together. What's surprising is how sudden their break up is. Just like that, Mia just stops the relationship. No connections with one another, no acknowledging that they had a relationship, as if they hadn't been a couple in the first place. That's what hits me first. They both seemed as if they loved each other deeply, yet it just ends without a word (*tear tear*). No relationship that strong should end like that!

Adam, at first, wasn't happy about the idea that everything just suddenly stop. Wouldn't anybody? From there, he transferred his anger to lyrics, which is what made him and his band become so famous, and you can say he copes with the break up. After three years, both Adam and Mia are at the big leagues. She a cello prodigy, and he an award-winning artist. After all they've achieved and what had happened between them, they wouldn't think that they would ever come across one another again. But as fate brings them together for one more night, the loss of three years still lingers, so their reunion isn't exactly a comfortable one. As they spend their last night in New York together, you can feel the supposed unhappy ending in the air (*more tears*). With both their rising fame and busy schedules, there seemed to be no way that they would be back together. But as they reopen themselves to the truth and the past, you can't help but cheer on for both of them and understand both situations, and hope for the best for them both.

There are not enough words to describe how breathtaking Where She Went is, how beautiful it was when Adam and Mia fell in love again, how amazing Gayle Forman's storytelling is. Forman is definitely one of my all-time favorite authors after reading this novel. It's going to be tough finding another novel for a while that will top this one. Where She Went definitely deserves 5 stars and I have a feeling that I am going to be rereading it over and over again for the next week.
