Now that I have read books one to three, I am definitely of two minds as to what I think. The purist reader part of me is picking up on all the issues that I have with the series (plot, writing, morality, etc) but the book dragon part of me is quite content at the pile of books at my feet that she has devoured with relish.

As the books move the plot forward, I found myself more drawn in to these characters (even though their actions were quite frustrating) and my curiosity is driving me to continue. In other words, I have a niggling need (like an itch that needs to be scratched) to know what happens next. 

For those readers out there who are easily triggered, be warned that these books are not for you. But if you enjoy a mystery, dark academia, deadly trials, magic powers, morally compromised characters, slow burn enemies to lovers, spice (🌶️🌶️) then these might be just the thing as long as you’re doing so for fun. After all, what can be better than experiencing two FMCs beginning to come into their power?

After this third instalment of the ZA series, I am forced to face facts: like it or not, something about this story is keeping me reading. And so, without further ado, I’m now off to delve into volume four.
