Wizard's First Rule
by Terry Goodkind
The first 500-ish pages were great. A few things I didn’t care for but overall the story and the characters were engrossing. Then the next 200 pages were a quick slope downward. Things happened. Unnecessary things. Things you can’t un-read. As you learn more about Kahlan, and Richard, the logic lost traction. And as unspeakable acts piled on top of crumbling magic systems, I just grew more and more agitated. Sections got skipped and I couldn’t wait to be done.
3 stars because there was a great story here for most of the novel. And Richard With The Temper is a great protagonist.
TW.
