Definitely took a darker turn that I was not expecting, but it definitely made the book better! The main plot was told in the beginning, and I thought that it would’ve been a little too young adult, but then it started to pick up and towards the end definitely went in a direction I wouldn’t have expected so that’s always a plus. Overall a good book, mainly because of the darker elements.
