This was the first book I read after years and years of not reading for pleasure. So, to get lucky enough that my first book "back in the game" was a great thriller, was wonderful. That could make me a bit biased though. The rush of something new and exciting is just that... new and exciting. But if you're looking for an easy mystery to knock out on the beach or a long plane ride, this is it. It's engrossing and kept me guessing for the most part, even though the story might be a little bit overdone. (Small town girl goes back to where she's from after getting a big-girl lawyer/detective job, only to get sucked back in by people from her past.) But the fact that it's been told before means it holds up over time. Highly recommended, even beside the fact that the author is a famous actress.
