Love, Holly by Emily Stone
5.0

I went into Love, Holly thinking it would be a cute romance to set the Christmas mood, and I’ve never been so happy to be wrong. This book had so much more to offer and I was shocked with how much I loved it.

SPOILERS AHEAD!
“Some people you know for a lifetime, but they never really make an imprint on your soul-and some people you only have to know for an instant to know they will be a part of you forever”. This line sealed the 5 stars for me.

The grief, regret, and loss seen in each character added so much depth, and made every person seem real. The miscommunications were actually understandable as they tied into events with Emma, Holly, Lily, and Jack just couldn’t live through again. Emma and Holly formed a beautiful friendship despite such an intense and awkward start. Jack had such depth to him that I loved to see. Holly’s letters to her sister showed just how much she cared, and when it was revealed that they were never sent I was crushed.

As for the romance aspect to the book, it was perfect. There was just enough to keep you wanting a happy ending, and the dual POV helped this so much!! I think the most important part is understanding that working through their grief and emotions from the past is what brought them together, and that their relationship wouldn’t have been the same without such a deep dive into that topic.
