I did cry over a lot of this book, as SJM is able to make me care about her characters despite my misgivings. I felt very jerked around by this story, both plot and character development wise, but ultimately understand what people are saying about the story getting better as it progresses. However, her treatment of her one character of color in this book is really difficult to support and definitely needs to be highlighted.
