The story starts off very slow, introducing so many characters and detailing their mundane lives for so long that I was bored for the first maybe eighteen percent, but there is a point to all of it, so I'm glad I stuck it out. From there, you get to the meat of the story and all of the things thought to have been unnecessary thread together very nicely, and it makes the story feel like it is something that really happened.

I really enjoyed the parts detailing Lisa's life, the ups and downs of it, and the manipulation and gaslighting that occurs - I thought this was all well done. Parts were intriguing, some had my heart pounding, and others were very sweet. This is a book that will stick with me for a while.

As a side-note, I listened to the audiobook and the narrator was excellent! Her voice was soothing, I thought her voices and accents were impressive, and she seemed to embody the main character quit well. If you have access to the audiobook, I recommend getting the story that way.
