A challenging and emotional read. It takes some acclimating to get used to McCarthy’s writing style. Cried at the end of the book in the middle of the beach in broad daylight. Literally wailing at Ocean Beach. Challenges our notions of morality, goodness, survival, and justice. The relationship between the man and the boy felt so real, so alive. Such tense moments of fear, such jarring cannibalistic imagery that gave me the chills and had me up at night, such a deep bond between the two. My first 5-star book here.
