Batman and Robin (2009-2010 series)
Written by Grant Morrison
Volume 1: Batman Reborn
Art: Frank Quitely (issues 1-3) & Philip Tan (issues 4-6)
There's a new dynamic duo on the streets of Gotham. Batman (Bruce Wayne) has fallen in the Final Crisis and presumed dead.
Dick Grayson, the original Robin and former superhero Nightwing has taken on the cowl as the new Batman and is teamed up with the assassin-raised son of Bruce, Damian Wayne, as the new Robin.
Volume 1 gives us Batman Reborn illustrated by Quitely with suitably dynamic artwork and a flair for the grotesque as Batman and Robin take on Pyg and the circus of strange.
Professor Pyg with his obsession for masks and cutting off faces is truly terrifying and sets the tone for a pulp fiction action adventure.
Philip Tan takes over the art duties for Revenge of The Red Hood. Slightly deranged vigilante Red Hood aka Jason Todd (well you'd be messed up too if you had been brutally killed by the Joker and then resurrected later), teams up with a survivor of Pyg's reign of terror and clashes with Batman and Robin in a battle against crime, particularly the flamboyant Flamingo. And who is the mysterious Oberon 'The Gravedigger' Sexton?
