Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo

4.0

The sequel to Shadow and Bone was, in my opinion, not as good as the first. It was a bit slow and dragged on at times towards the beginning but got better as the story progressed. The highlight of Siege and Storm was without a doubt Mr Nikolai Lanstov, who is now one of my favourite characters of all time, he’s playful and witty but knows how to be serious when he needs to be. In addition to this remarkable character I very much appreciated how the build up to the ending was developed in a way that was fast paced but did not feel rushed. 3.5/5 stars
