Picked this up because it begins in 2024 and the world it describes is, of course, not far from believable. I can respect it as a cautionary tale but the religious angle made it hard to take seriously. I also just disagree with the religion’s goal. I think showing the power of community and adaptability could have done the job here. I’m sad this classic didn’t hit for me like it has for so many.
