A Night to Surrender by Tessa Dare

Bram is officially my least favorite romantic lead of any book I've ever read. Not only was he hard to understand narratively (he's so restrained, but then he kissed her within seconds of meeting her??), but he also was painfully aggressive. One throwaway line about not being the kind of man who forced himself on women doesn't take away from the fact that he basically forced himself on Susanna from the start. I just couldn't get invested in their romance.

I like the Spindle Cove setup and I'll probably read the rest, but I hope they have more believable and likable leads.
