This book is what the author calls a parallel universe that "needed to be escapist, trauma-soothing, alternate-but-reaistic reality. Not a perfect world - one still believably fucked up, just a little better, a little more optimistic". This book includes so many good things, starting with a female president.

One of the side characters is a trans women married to a pansexual women. The sexual content mentioned is consentual and between two men. One Person in the book is a recovering addict. The Republican Presidential Candidate has several sexual assault allegations (not publicly), we learn from a victim - this storyline is not center stage. Minor content warnings: One of the main characters parents is dead. The inbreeding of the royal family gets jokingly mentioned. Racism exists in this world, but is not a major plot point. Homophobia is in so far relevant to the story that especially the Royal Family tries to hide their gay offsprings sexual orientation at all costs.
