Victory of Eagles by Naomi Novik

I took math all the way through pre-calculus in high school. Reflecting on that time, I could easily appreciate both how smart and how bored Perscitia must have been at the breeding grounds before Temeraire started stirring things up. After more than four books I was glad to see Temeraire get his first commission, even if it was a bit sideways, and as much as I wanted the British government to get over themselves and realize what a good team they had on their hands, I know it couldn't really work that way for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is adventures in Australia! I hope there's something involving the Rainbow Serpent.
