Hook, Line, and Sinker
by Tessa Bailey
Gosh, this was so boring and unmemorable that I forgot the basic plotline for a second. I loved the first book, so it's not the author's writing style but something about this book was so boring I skimmed through most parts.
Someone said that the fmc (I don't even remember the name lmao) was the secondary character in her own book and that's the best way to describe her. She likes music, her superior and... Idk that's it. All her talent and characterization end there. It also feels like a bad version of It Happened One Summer. The pattern was the exact same but just lousier this time. I am also not a huge fan of 'oh look at the fuckboi who is so sensitive and deep and actually a good guy with a bad past.' Also not a huge fan of the fuckboi trope in general.
There were also a lot of unanswered questions about Hannah's (yes! I remember her name!) Parents.
In the end, I know Tessa Bailey is an amazing writer. She has given me two of my favorite grumpy x sunshine romances but this one was just so bland and repetitive that I couldn't enjoy even a second of this book.
