This book is definitely not getting enough hype and credit for how wonderfully it is written and how emotional it turned out to be.
The Viletti Chronicles series is fast becoming one of my favorite mafia series of all time and if you read my reviews, you should know it is my favorite sub genre of the romance genre.
This book is perfection on all levels.
Characters:
- A strong and resilient FMC that does not fall under the "strong bitch" archetype, remains soft and loving despite the violence she saw and experiences, she remains full of life and ready to take a bite and I loved her for it. She would do anything for her man.
- A brutal MMC who is very self-aware and understanding that he has to play a role and put on a mask to "hide his condition" (he is demisexual). He is so soft for her once their connection is established and growing, I was on the floor. The romantic dialogues, the touch her and get unalived vibes, the small touches and small gestures to show affection were immaculate.

Plot
The plot is intricate and it has good pacing: you get action that is not overshadowed by spice or character development. All happen seamlessly.

Rep
This was my first time reading about a demi character and I found it super interesting and well researched. It did not feel forced but flows well with the stories and the characters and the family dynamics at play. The building of intimacy felt strongly emotional and I enjoyed getting to know both characters as they got to know each other before getting intimate.

Spice
It is a slow burn but it did not feel frustrating. It felt natural and real.
The degradation was so well done ! I find it rare because mostly it is used as an excuse to exercise violence, even if the author is trying their best to "make it make sense." I found that Sarah Bailey is THE author that does this kink the best. It is all for the FMCs and the connection created between the two characters gives it meaning. This is definitely not the spiciest book I have ever read but it was one of the hottest to me

Will always recommend
