Clariel: The Lost Abhorsen by Garth Nix
2.0
I am now finally to some “new” novels in the Abhorsen books after slowly, painfully working my way through the first three books that I had read.
I mean, sure, I was intrigued when Mogget almost let it slip that Chlorr was Abhorsen, but possibly not intrigued enough to read an entire novel about it. Clariel was bratty and selfish in the same way that Anakin Skywalker was bratty and selfish. Maybe prequels can be left well enough alone.
I asked myself if I struggled with this book because I was also reading Who Fears Death, which I loved. However, I think I’m just doing the duty of reading these books but I’m still going to love Sabriel best. When I saw that there had been books that I missed, it wasn’t me tripping over myself to get to them. It was more like “hmm, I guess I should read them?”
