Land of Love and Drowning by Tiphanie Yanique

3.0

This is a perfectly adequate book, but one that I thought that I would enjoy more than I actually did. It has been on numerous best of the summer lists and has many elements I enjoy (sisters, family sagas, magical realism, historical fiction) but somehow (aside for some great scenes and lines) it didn't add up to a great book for me.
