If it be now, 'tis not to come; if it be not to come, it will be now; if it be not now, yet it will come.

To be, or not to be - that is the question; whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The sling and arrows of outrageous fortune, or to take arms against a sea of troubles.

It's so interesting to read a play, especially such a famous one, from none other than Shakespeare himself! I knew the story before, but finally understood the whole thing. How the story builds up in five acts and ends in this big tragedy! I won't lie, the language is hard to understand, but I just love how old english sounds. I would love to see this in theatre. It's soooo pretty!

At its core, Hamlet symbolizes the struggle between action and inaction, especially in the face of moral uncertainty. Hamlet was relatable while overthinking and struggling with his doubts about what's the truth. The ghost of Hamlet’s father represents lingering guilt and the haunting power of unresolved wrongs, while the recurring image of rot and decay (like “something is rotten in the state of Denmark”) symbolizes moral corruption beneath the surface of power and appearances.

Even today, Hamlet speaks to anyone caught between duty and doubt, justice and revenge, selfhood and society. Its themes are timeless, and its symbols still cut deep.
