This is going to be a jumbled review -- thoughts are everywhere. First of all, I didn't care for the ending. It's never really explained what Chris's ability is. I don't understand why Jesse knew how special Alex and him were and why she kept telling him so. For someone who read the books back to back, either I have a bad memory or Jesse's intentions are simply unclear in my opinion. I kept forgetting who is who when it comes to side characters in Rule. I did enjoy Greg but I wasn't thrilled at first when we kept getting his pov in the beginning. What Alex and Finn do to speak to the Changed -- I'll never fully understand. It also felt fat stretched. Finns death was underwhelming too.
What made this book was getting a lot of Tom pov, Jayden tagging along with Chris, Chris not being so concerned with Alex (and more so Peter), and lastly, Tom's and Chris's unexpected friendship. Wolf too!! Wolf all around was great. Unfortunately, this book was a let down compared to the other two, and from what I remembered, but I'm still glad I reread the series. Do I think it's underrated in the realm of zombie books? Yes. Would it be the first zombie series I'd recommend? Definitely not.
