Body Grammar
by Jules Ohman
I ended up liking this more than I thought I would. I liked the fact that it had its own identity in that it was a queer, coming-of-age book set in the fashion industry that wasn’t completely depressing and sad. While this book hits on grief and trauma, it still feels heartwarming and gives the reader a sense of nostalgia.
Lou was a very indecisive (and undecided) character, but I thought she was endearing and relatable. She reminded me that sometimes it’s okay to be a little clueless in life and that it can take time to figure out one’s self. I also enjoyed the cast of characters and seeing glimpses into their own coming-of-age stories as well.
All in all, a great story that I definitely recommend.
