Don't Swipe Right by L.M. Chilton

Suspend all believability before you start this book.

Dates, dates. Men who are all appalling with no other facets to their character. Gwen who simply goes along without the obvious responses sensible, modern women would offer.

Gwen is an unlikeable, wisecracking and shallow girl but hey whatever. It’s meant to be a comedy. I just wished I could like the protagonist.

I kept waiting for some slight depth to the male characters, dates and poor old Aubrey, but they were all so unfairly single faceted, and Gwen’s jibber jabber and stoopid reactions just irritated me. Nothing made me laugh at all.

She was never arrested. Murder after murder. Always too smart (arsed) for the cops. As if police would put up with a smart arse like her. Duh.

Early Stephanie Plum it is not.

The options for who Parker was, were well flipped around, so the last third is actually fun. Guessing who it was saved us from the lame love story options.
