i read this for the winter magical readathon prompt “read a friend’s favorite/recommendation” since this is my sister’s favorite book. Having already read a Mitch Albom book (Frankie Presto), I knew I would like it but it wouldn’t make my favorites of the year. This was short and sweet; I read it all in one sitting. Very Christmas Carol-esque. I think the book’s greatest strength was somehow keeping suspense in a 200 page book that starts at the end of the character’s life. Not my perfect book, but I get the appeal and would totally recommend it to others. I think I might prefer Frankie Presto, but thats just my taste.
