A King so Cold
by Ella Fields
Brilliant fantasy romance
Man oh man! This is one of those books that made me anxious to know how it ended. I'm in awe of how this author made my heart flip back-and-forth throughout this book. Let me just say, all hail the queens! And by queens of course I mean our Queen author for writing this magnificent piece of work, and our queen in the book, Queen Audra.
Part of what made this book so much fun to read was just how terrifyingly awesome Queen Audra was. She was born and bred to be malicious, but even black hearts can be tender. I love how the story brought forth the transformation of the queen's heart, through love. Always through love.
Her King has deceived her in the worst way possible and she battles with self-doubt and the ramifications of what he's done. Her friend and closest ally is truly her saving grace in all this.
Who is worthy of the Queen's love? Is the Queen even worthy of love? I'm telling you, this is a book that made me desperate for multiple HEAs. I was panicking towards the end, wondering just how this brilliant author would end this angsty love story. I can't recommend this book enough if you're looking for something filled with angst, deceit, a strong female character, desperate love, and wrapped in a fantasy theme.
