P.S., I Love You
by Cecelia Ahern
RATING: 5 STARS
Gerry and Holly have been soul mates as children and continue to be in love as adults. Gerry has a brain tumor that only gives a little while to live. Before he dies he leaves Holly letters that will help her get through the grieving process, change her life and hopefully find the will to love again. What makes any rom-com work, especially ones that can make you cry, are the secondary characters. This is a great novel for when you need a little romance and a bit of a tear-jerker. It does have humour to keep it balanced - which is always nice on the ole emotions.
The book is WAY better than the movie and I LOVE the movie. I would read/watch them as separate entities. It is very different as the book takes place in Ireland and Holly has a big Irish family. I really like Holly's family. In the movie, I like the friendships and seeing Gerard Butler as Gerry (teeheehee).
