Spiral is the second instalment in Bal Khabra’s Off The Ice series, and follows independent ballerina Sage, who is pushed into bidding for a date with shy ice hockey player Elias. They soon come to realise they can help each other out when it comes to media attention, so agree to a good old-fashioned fake relationship. I loved it just as much as I loved Collide. Plus it featured another woman of colour, who also happens to be an independent people-pleasing eldest sister! My favourite character was Sage and my least favourite character was probably Eli’s dad. I recommend this book because once again, it’s got everything you need in a hockey romance: romantic male lead, relatable female lead, found family vibes and SMUT. I need Revolve to be released immediately. ‘And the girl wonders why I buy her fucking flowers. I’d empty an entire flower shop just so she could decide on her favourite.’
