The Walking Dead, Vol. 26: Call to Arms
by Robert Kirkman
Bullet Review:
3 stars...or 4 stars? Eh, let's settle with 3 stars. Don't want to give this series TOO big of a head.
Rick Grimes is starting towards the path of ultimate domination. He can do pretty much anything at this point and not get a single shred of criticism for his fascist, tyrannical actions. He literally paints propaganda on the walls of buildings to deflect anger to someone else and away from himself and his increasingly problematic actions.
Nothing to see here, folks!
My hope is that Rick Grimes becomes the evil he's faced since volume 1, and that somehow, Negan becomes our hero. If that happens, then Kirkman is truly a genius.
But given how Rick has survived 26 volumes and never once been brought back down to earth, I sincerely doubt that Kirkman can let go of his special snowflake to humble him. Instead, all the good guys will nod and intone "Yessir!" and the bad guys will twirl their mustaches and cackle, "I've got you now, my pretty!"
