Five stars for the first four chapters, which were wonderful, funny and engrossing. One for the awful fifth chapter and two for the ending with its

tired post apocalyptic schtick and its deus ex timely ship from Norway.

. So, if I give equal weight to each chapter that would be 3.8333. I really, really disliked chapter four, though, and the ridiculous jargon alone should merit another point deduction. So 3.

For an excellent review -- kinder, smarter and less petulant than my own -- I recommend Ursula Le Guin's.
