Der Schwarm
by Frank Schätzing
This is so frustrating. Numerous people tell me this is their most beloved book.
It starts ok, normal lifes and something sinister is happening. This is standard catastrophe stuff, but executed well. But as soon as conflict comes, it goes off the rails. The characters (especially the ‚evil‘ ones) are so cliche and I seldomly read as wooden dialogue as in these pages.
Why is this 2 instead of 1 star? The story , it is fairly well researched and there is one chapter in the end wich borders on original and entertaining
