Pippi Longstocking by Astrid Lindgren

3.0

I haven't read this book since I was little and I really got a kick out of it. It's old-fashioned, of course, as it was written in 1950. But it's still appealing to kids because of Pippi's silliness and incredible imagination. The only parts I didn't like were going to the circus (because circuses are just awful for the animals) and the part where she pulled the horns off the bull, saying they can't feel it. (They can.)

Overall, a terrific book for any child who utters the phrase "I'm bored." Pippi will likely inspire them to become Thing-Finders. :)
