An Amish Picnic: Four Stories by Kathleen Fuller, Kelly Irvin, Amy Clipston

5.0

Wow what a great book!!! I wish I could give this book 6 stars.

I knew it would be because I love all of these authors and think their work is amazing!!!

This was the perfect read for this long weekend though I hadn’t expected to finish it within a day of starting it.

Baskets of sunshine
Such a great idea to describe the picnic basket. I loved the story of what starts out as a friendship and what it ends up being. It’s an amazing story and the title well sums it up nicely. Sometimes people’s behaviour can be seen as what it really isn’t and people judging based on that can really confuse things. It reminds me of the lesson not to judge others before you know them a bit like books and their covers. It’s such a sweet story despite the important lesson within it.

Candlelight sweethearts
I loved that this was a unusual setting but at the same time it was oh so perfect and funny as well though something’s throughout were serious. It’s really good to see how community and people really come together to help each other out. The two sweethearts compliment each other so well and they work well together when misunderstandings are put aside. The candle lit picnic well it’s romantic but to the Amish also their way of life with the candles. I love that its not your usual summers day picnic or a picnic outside.

Reeling in love
A great reminder to not assume things without knowing. A loyal friendship over the years with standing weekend date, it seems everyone around them except themselves know how they feel about each other. It’s clear they enjoy spending time together and their friendship has blossomed into something else. It’s funny throughout and the picnics were just as funny but I’m glad their picnics worked out in the end.

Picnics and prospects
Wow this story was such a beautiful love story of how misunderstandings can hinder friendships and relationships but how with understanding it makes things so much easier. The letters between the two people were a nice lovers mystery that bought people together. This was a wonderful finish to this book
