The Lady and the Orc
by Finley Fenn
I like Orc books and sometimes I get the rough and cruel plot because thei are supposed to be savage or whatever.. but Grimarr knew better.
I kept getting pulled out of this book by the language. We have a lot of very proper English being used to try and keep with the time period and then one of the Orcs walks up to Jule and says 'What's up?' A contraction and slang all in one go. Too much current language.
I think I get where the author was headed with this and it probably wasn't meant as to seem as abusive as it came across but the relationship was pretty difficult.
I think I prefer Z0e Ashwood Orcs in stead of this brutal bunch.
