I really enjoyed this story. Mattie is a cool character who has really learnt to look after herself due to being brought up in the foster system. I like the way it shows the bond that foster kids can share due to their shared experiences.
The ending where

Mattie gets caught by the killer and tortured was so creepy but we'll written, it was shocking to see all the other children appear with their various injuries that ultimately led to their deaths! I loved the way that Mattie's perception of the ghosts changed throughout the story and she goes from ignoring them to actually being friendly with them and happy for them when they move on.

I found this story gripping and would love to read more about Mattie and the ghosts. I would like to find out more about

the between and possibly see Mattie evolve into her role as a reaper.

I enjoyed the way that Mattie and Dan's relationship developed as they learnt more about each other.
Overall this was a really cool book and I would definitely read it again at some point.
