The book was a slog to get through for the first half and fairly a psychological horror, which made it a bit of a letdown when that unreliable narration piece just fully went away. Lifting the curse just seemed really simple and I don't feel the reasons it wasn't done before made a lot of sense to me.
Literally what would you do with all your money if you can't even leave your property? Why would you even have kids and marry if you know they'll be cursed to die horribly?
