jesus, this book was terribly written. it felt like glorified fan fiction. the pacing was soooo off, and the world building would have benefited when some editing. the love felt very much they hated each other, you turned the literal page and then they loved each other. the tone of the characters, especially in the way Elara spoke, felt very disconnected from how the rest of the story was told. the chapter title pages were formatted very poorly (esp. between the unnecessary constellation clip art and the ugly use of black lettering), and there was inconsistent use of paragraph breaks. and this is just a personal critique, but the author used the word “rivulating” at least ten times. girl, please get a thesaurus im begging.
