Take a Hint, Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert

4.0

This was sooo cute!!

- Zaf is such a sweet man!!! So soft, so caring, so loving!! And yet also in possession of a resting bitch face. A teddy bear he truly is, indeed.

- Dani is not your typical romantic interest and I liked that. Very sex positive, very I know what I want, stop trying to make me feel bad about it.

- I'm glad that it was Zaf who was the emotional, romantic one in the relationship. Again, different from usual romance tropes.

- Zaf was so understanding all the time of Dani's needs and emotions - which totally make sense considering his job is to teach young men that emotions are a good thing (which as an aside, can I say that it's nice that a hero is a actually good at something the book states he is good at. Usually the author is like 'the hero is good at this' and then proceeds to be terrible at it for the entire book) - but it was soooo annoying sometimes. I'm not saying it's a bad thing. I'm saying that as someone who is impatient and often doesn't know how to deal with emotions properly Zaf sort of pissed me off, like can you be irrational for one second and stop being perfect!! It's hard to forget that he's fictional. Real men would never.

- I'm glad that in the end, Dani recognized that while she is allowed to set boundaries and state what she wants in a relationship, she can't blame people for falling in love with her and that detonating an entire relationship because another person has feelings is not a great or positive thing. But I'm also really glad Zaf was like, hey, sorry I did the opposite of what you asked of me and dumped feelings on you when I could see you weren't ready.

- I did think that the conflict and the resolution were incredibly fast. A little too fast. Damn them for being rational grown adults who don't let fears stand in the way of communication.

- There was a bit too much pinning for me in the beginning too.

Overall, would recommend to anyone looking for positive, healthy relationship between two very rational adults.
