"Daisy St. James was created to ruin me. I was made to burn for her."

Thank you to Jennifer Millikin & Valentine PR for the gifted arc in exchange for an honest review!

Oh man, I ate this book up. It usually takes me a little while to get through a Jennifer Millikin book because they hit me hard, emotionally, but I read this in two days. There's tension, mystery (not romantic suspense though), grief, true friendship, and yes, The Princess Bride references.

True love, in all its forms, is a main theme of this book (and if you've ever watched The Princess Bride, please tell me you just said that in your head like the marriage guy). And I loved the way true love was shown in friendship form in this book. Between Penn and Daisy. Hugo and Penn. Daisy and Vivi. And even Duke and Daisy. I loved seeing all of the different friendships on display throughout this story.

At times, the dialogue was a little formal, but it only really pulled me out of the book once. It was during a smutty scene, so that's probably why. But overall, it didn't take away from the story.

You're going to want to read Hugo's story, which comes out in May, because there are still questions we want answers to and I know he's going to end up falling for that podcaster. But the books in this series aren't going to be able to be read as standalones. So make sure you pick up Penn's story now.
