Of Wings and Briars by Elayna R. Gallea
5.0

Second in a series, Of Wings and Briars is my new favorite. Formerly the king’s pet, Aileana is working with her mate, Xander, to remove the cuffs that are subduing her magic. In doing so, Aileana must act the meek, demure woman to adhere to the Accompaniment Law, all while getting ever closer to the man who imprisoned her for over two decades.

So much happened in this story, I don’t know where to start. The world-building is fantastic – it’s like I’m seeing out of the characters’ eyes. The magic system is unique and varied. I love the dynamic between Aileana and Xander, but the new characters introduced in this story really kick it up a notch.

An action-packed story rife with fated mates, fake marriage, a healthy dose of revenge, and an epic cliffhanger, this is a series you absolutely should read!

Special thanks to the author for the ARC. All thoughts in this review are honest and my own.
