Rolling Warrior: The Incredible, Sometimes Awkward, True Story of a Rebel Girl on Wheels Who Helped Spark a Revolution by Judith Heumann, Kristen Joiner

5.0

This is a really nicely paced, middle grade memoir, sharing the story of Judith Heuman, who was truly remarkable. She passed away this year, and the world is a bit worse for it. She was instrumental in the strides that have been made for disability rights, and her clear-eyed dedication to changing the world in the face of ridiculous odds is exactly the kind of leadership we still need today. Her ability to build a coalition, and to imagine and build a future that the rest of the world pretended it wasn’t ready for is a story that should be shared with everyone.
