What to Do When I'm Gone: A Mother's Wisdom to Her Daughter
by Suzy Hopkins
This works best as a gift for someone whose mother is living. It will serve as a reminder to have conversations that matter.
After the loss of a mother, it’s also a good read, but I’m feeling trepidation about gifting it to a niece who lost her mom 9 months ago...is it going to seem presumptuous? Upsetting? Consoling? I guess I’ll find out. I’ll tell her she’s welcome to read it or to destroy the book with all of her tamped down hostility...even that experience could make a fine gift.
