After Nova was in a car accident caused by her mother, she’s forced to move in with her aunt Jasmin, uncle Mark and cousin Sage that she didn’t know the existence of. Her plans for college are ruined and now she’s stuck on a small island that barely has internet. Nova is pretty sure that her life will be boring from now on, until she runs into the handsome Killian. He piques her interest with his good looks and charming personality.
The island is in turmoil when there’s a body found in the woods. The same woods where Nova had been on the night the incident happened. She remembered hearing a strange sound that night and heard howling wolves. Nova realises that the island might have more secrets than she thought.

They welcome her with open arms and she gets immediately introduced to Sage’s (her cousin) friend group. They hang out with her and take her to a bar like she’s always been part of the group. That’s how she caught the eye of Killian, who is eager to get to know her better. At first, Nova isn’t interested in all that attention. She wasn’t used to it at home.
I love how Sage and Jasmin immediately took care of Nova without asking. They barely knew her but immediately realised that she needed that kind of love. She’s a bit grumpy about it first and rejects it in the first place but slowly warms up to them. I loved seeing Nova’s character growth. She went from putting up walls to letting people in. Killian also plays a big role in that. He’s kind, patient and very understanding. He shows his interest in her but let Nova decide the pace. Combined with the mystery around the body in the woods and the supernatural aspect makes this book a fun and exciting read.
Days of Flesh & Blood is a slow burn romance with some steamy moments and a cinnamon roll love interest. It contains werewolves, fae, grumpy x sunshine, found family and action.
