These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong

5.0

“She…hoped. And hope was dangerous. Hope was the most vicious evil of them all, the thing that had managed to thrive in Pandora’s box among misery, and disease, and sadness—and what could endure alongside others with such teeth if it didn’t have ghastly claws of its own?”

I had high expectations from this one and guess what? it lived up to themm. Thanks to Memi and Hannan for pushing me to read thiss beautiful book.

Writing
From the first page I could FEEL how amazing the Writing was. it was so magical and enchantingg that I fell right into the book, completely entranced till the very endd. The descriptions and the environment were perfectly written and I lovedd reading itt.

Pace
not too fast and not too slow. just the perfect kind where you dont get bored orr overwhelmed.

Plot
Ok so the storyline wasss interesting and the politics was also not so boringg buuut there was so little worldbuilding, it all felt sort of shallow.
