It’s like watching a train wreck in slow motion. The characters are not lovable in the slightest, but that’s not a bad thing. The book feels more about the suspense of a terrifying situation, with a mystery to discover piece by bloody piece. This book delves into dark and sinister topics, such As: attempted murder, attempted infanticide, and actual murder. There were no trigger warnings at the beginning of the book that people would benefit from, as some moments in the book are deeply upsetting to read. overall, the suspenseful tragedy that is Verity is well worth the read if you can stomach some heavier topics.
Graphic: Infidelity, Abortion, and Murder
Moderate: Vomit
