<strong>A Classic!</strong>
I remember reading so many random horror paperbacks as a child, scavenged from various thrift stores and used bookshops. Somehow I managed to miss this gem though and I'm grateful to Grady Hendrix for bringing it, and others, back into the light.
I'm a big fan of stories based in various mythologies, and I think this is the first I've read from a Jewish tale. Hopefully it won't be the last!
This book was really great. I loved the way the author dealt with the experiences of the characters and how those experiences impacted them and informed their choices and actions. Also the depictions of racism, prejudice, and the way that people will turn on each other to have someone to blame. Even when communities should be working together, it's so easy to go the other way and fight each other instead.
Even the depictions of LGBTQIA people, though brief and very dated, were actually very kind, which surprised me given the time this was written.
I'm really looking forward to picking up more of the Paperbacks From Hell collection!
