Chaos infestation. A key theme from the book and the best two words to describe it, in a good way. Drawing together multiple genres and crating a plausible world for them to exist. A magical library with gateways to other realities, this was a compelling piece of fantasy and crime fiction. The paralells and references to Sherlock Holmes were appreciated, the setting of a technologically advanced, fae infested Victorian London was unique. However, there were points where the language seemed convoluted, over explaining certain aspects. Sometimes the characters fell a bit flat, so much mystery around them meant it was hard to connect with them. Despite this, the incredible world building draws you in, and the end leaves me curious about how these characters will develop in the next book.
