Adventures in Human Being: A Grand Tour from the Cranium to the Calcaneum by Gavin Francis

5.0

Wonderful tour of the human body in medicine, through the lens of an entertaining polymath. Made for excellent reading aloud to the family on a cross country trip, and would be a thoughtful gift for anyone in a health field with an ounce of interest in the broader scope of things. He moves fluidly from history to poetry to art to anthropology to music, and back to surgery, and he tells stories of so many places he has practiced medicine and learned, that it was somewhat astonishing to look at the author photo at the end and see his young age. Read this! You won't regret it.
