They Were Here Before Us: A Novella in Pieces by Eric LaRocca

3.0

i think what i’ve come to find is that i love the way larocca writes and do not like the plots of his stories - i read short stories a lot, so it can’t be blamed on that, but it just felt very, empty? almost like something is just always a bit too ambiguous. i do enjoy the stories nonetheless, even if the beastiality-esque first two (?) stories were not really my favourite thing to read. last one was a hit, although i wish there would’ve been at least a tiny bit of context abt why exactly the knowledge abt the “trips” was relevant for us to know.
